Who should apply?
We are looking for candidates who have a background in any of the below disciplines:
- Car Mechanic
- Heavy Plant Mechanic
- Heating & Plumber Engineers
- Gas Engineers
- Hydraulic Technicians
- Service Technician
- Or previous experience with another mechanical based discipline
We will provide you with the training to become a confident and competent Mechanical Technician.

What will your Traineeship look like?
You will start out working within our mechanical solutions workshops where you will be trained in how to test, maintain, and repair our diverse range of subsea mechanical equipment. Ensuring our assets are maintained in a state of readiness is critical to our success, and you will play a key role in delivering equipment to meet our clients’ requirements.
After developing competencies in the testing and maintenance of mechanical equipment, you may get the opportunity to attend vessel mobilisations, followed by completing your offshore survival training, then finally attending offshore trips with fellow technicians, until you are confident that you are ready to attend those trips solo.
When you’ve completed all of the above, you will be a relied upon member of the Mechanical Solutions team, and a representative of Ashtead Technology, providing superior customer service to our clients.

Assessment Centre
Successful applicants will be invited to attend our Assessment Centre in February. The day will consist of a combination of tasks & activities that will test your suitability for the job
