What you’ll be doing

Joining Ashtead Technology as Mechanic, you will join our Mechanical Solution service line where you will be responsible for the build, maintenance & operation of our range of diesel, hydraulic, electric & pneumatically powered rental equipment.

Some of your other responsibilities will include;

• Inspecting , testing, repairing and preparing Diesel Driven Pumps, HPUs, Air Powered Reels and compressors

• Ensuring all relevant and necessary maintenance activities are carried out at planned intervals/when required and are documented correctly

• Checking in and testing equipment on its return from hire as per workshop procedures

What experience you’ll bring

This role would suit someone who has a genuine interest in mechanical machinery, can work of their own initiative and is a genuine team player.

Some other things that will help you to be successful in this role?

• You will hold a City & Guilds level 3 in HGV maintenance and repair, or industry equivalent (agricultural, plant and marine), or HNC in Mechanical Engineering

• You can diagnose and repair all types of diesel engines (Detroit, Volvo, CAT, Iveco, Perkins)

• You have experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems beneficial

• Knowledge of rotational systems/equipment

• Basic electrical knowledge

• Experience working with mechanical machinery essential
