Key Features
- High-Speed
- Multichannel
- Multifrequency
The Olympus Multiscan MS 5800 ER is a versatile and complete testing tool. It can be configured as a single- or multiple-technique system using eddy current, remote field and magnetic flux leakage. It can also perform manual or automated inspection. This portable instrument can be used anywhere in the field. The MS 5800 ER is PC-based and equipped with user-friendly software packages as well as fast reporting capabilities.
Remote Field (RFT) is used for the inspection of ferromagnetic tubes, such as carbon steel and ferritic stainless steel. This inspetion technique detects and sizes wall thinning caused by corrosion, erosion, wear, pitting, and battle cuts.
Magnetic flux leakage (MFL) is a fast inspection technique, suitable for wall-loss measurement and detection of sharp defects, such as pitting, grooving, and circumferential cracks. MFL is effective for aluminum-finned carbon steel tubes, because the magnetic field is mostly unaffected by the presence of such fins.
Eddy current testing is a noncontact method for the inspection fo nonferromagnetic tubing. This technique is suitable for the detection and sizing of metal dicontinuities such as corrosion, erosion, wear, pitting, baffle cuts, wal losses, and cracks in nonferrous materials.
The Olympus Multiscan MS 5800 ER rents with software, cables, adapter, probes, laptop, carry case and manual.
Applications
- Eddy Current Testing
- Remote Field Testing
