About Us

History

Ashtead Technology was formed in 1985 (originally named SubSpek Limited), which at the time provided inspection equipment rental and sales from its base in Aberdeen.  Over the first few years this product line was expanded to include underwater positioning equipment.

In 1994 the Singapore base was opened, focussing on the offshore oil and gas industry and the subsea telecommunications cable market in Asia Pacific.  The first US operation was opened in 1997 in Houston, TX to service the North American Offshore market, principally in the Gulf of Mexico.

In 2010/11, Offshore Division Agents were appointed in Dubai (Emphor FZCO), Perth, Australia (Scope Engineering) and Norway (MacArtney).

Focus

The Group is totally focussed and committed to putting technical equipment into the hands of those who need it, either through short, medium or long term rental, as well as alternative financial offerings, including innovative programs such as our Rent To Own (RTO).

Throughout our development, we have invested heavily in our equipment – keeping the fleet up-to-date, in top condition and always ensuring that we have equipment available at short notice.

Our commitment to the customer is simple – we provide technical advice on what to rent and how to use it; our availability of equipment is second to none and all our equipment is tested and ready for use.
